Source-first, date-aware, and willing to say when an argument is weak.
Source hierarchy
We prioritise primary legislation and binding judgments, then official court/tribunal/government guidance, then the applicable industry code. The 2022 Government Private Parking Code was withdrawn; the BPA/IPC sector Single Code is an industry code, with transitional arrangements that must be checked against the event date and operator/site status. Community experiences are labelled separately and are never presented as law or precedent.
Date and jurisdiction matter
Rules are stored with versions and effective dates where practicable. We distinguish private parking from statutory council/TfL enforcement, and we do not assume that England/Wales rules automatically apply in Scotland or Northern Ireland.
How appeal wording is generated
Templates should be assembled only from grounds the user says are factually relevant. The site should not generate allegations of non-compliance as established facts where the underlying notice or evidence has not been checked.
Review cadence
High-change sources such as industry codes, government parking reform and enforcement procedure should normally be reviewed at least every 60–90 days. Stable primary legislation and judgments should normally be reviewed at least every 90–180 days, and immediately when a material change is reported. The admin dashboard automatically flags sources whose stored review date has arrived.
Corrections
Substantive corrections should be made promptly and the supporting source checked. Where a material rule changes, the old version should be archived with its effective dates rather than silently overwritten if historical cases still depend on it.
Conflicts and commercial influence
The project is intended to remain free consumer information. If sponsorship, affiliate links, paid referrals or commercial relationships are introduced, they should be disclosed clearly and must not determine legal/editorial conclusions.
Community cases
Submitted cases are moderated for obvious identifying data, relevance and clarity. Approval means only that the record is suitable for the community library; it does not certify the account as independently proven.
